Enjoy a full day to enjoy the many fine attractions of San Antonio. A good place to begin is with a visit to The Alamo, a shrine of Texas history and San Antonio's most famous attraction. Another recommended option is the San Francisco Mission, a stunning complex and a terrific example of the many missions of the southwest, which were constructed to convert the Native Americans to Christianity. Enjoy the beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk, which runs below street level. This is one of Texas' most popular destinations, because of its colorful shops, restaurants, hotels, and nightlife. There is also an amphitheater along the river. Another popular attraction here is El Mercado, a very lively Mexican Market, where it is customary to haggle over the price of an item.

Today, drive over to Bandera, which is billed as the "Cowboy Capital Of The World", because of its history as a staging ground for the Chisholm Trail cattle drives, its many guest ranches, and the large number of professional rodeo cowboys that call Bandera home. Relax in the scenic Texas Hill Country, horseback ride, or experience life on a Texas ranch while in Bandera.
Hotel: Mayan Dude Ranch

The day is free to explore this very western-style place. Step back into the days of the "Old West" at the Stockyards National Historical District. Here, visitors can attend a rodeo, see hats and boots being made, take in a cattle auction, see a daily longhorn cattle drive, and feast on classic Texas cuisine. Strap on those boots and get ready to 2-step across the dance floor at famed Billy Bob's Texas, the "World's Largest Country Music Honky Tonk". The Cowgirl Hall Of Fame is located in the Fort Worth Cultural Center, which is also the site of the Kimbell Art Museum, the Amon Carter Museum, and the Fort Worth Museum of Art. Nearby Sundance Square is a 16-block area of restored and replicated turn-of-the-century plankboard buildings that serve as shops, restaurants, nightclubs, theaters, and art galleries. Fort Worth has that true feel of the Old West.

In nearby Galveston, there is Moody Gardens, a beautiful indoor rain forest near the shores of the Gulf Of Mexico.
