With a reputation for being the undisputed holiday capital of the world, Orlando has so much going on that one trip to America's playground is never enough. In Orlando the sense of fun is infectious, and there is something for every single person to enjoy. Whether you prefer lazing around the pool in the sunshine, or experiencing the thrills at one of the many theme parks, Orlando's attractions will keep you busy day and night.
Disney World is without a doubt the main attraction in Orlando, and the park, which is divided up into several large areas - The Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland to name but three will take several days to explore, while to get the full experience of the wonderful Animal Kingdom and bizarre combination of utopia and history in EPCOT, you will need to allow at least a full day for each.
Outside the enormous Disney World complex, you should make time to visit some of the other parks as well: Universal Studios lets you peek into the world of movie-making, while Orlando's Seaworld gives you a chance to experience a wet, wild and spectacular show of leaping dolphins, sliding sea lions and crashing killer whales.
When you've finally tired of spending time on the roller coasters in the theme parks (as if you ever could), Orlando also offers the chance to indulge in some serious retail therapy in the many enormous shopping malls around the city and along the famous International Drive, where you can pick up incredible bargains on designer clothes, sports equipment and electrical goods.
Although often seen as being just a family destination, on arrival, you'll soon find out that Orlando has plenty going on for bigger kids too! After eating dinner in one of the city's many gourmet restaurants, there is plenty of choice when it comes to places to spend the rest of your evening. Many different nightclubs to suit all tastes abound in Orlando - particularly in the Downtown Disney complex, where every night is party night, and the dancing continues until the early hours of the morning.
One thing is for certain, any holiday to Orlando is an unforgettable experience, and somewhere that many people visit once as holiday of a lifetime, but end up coming back to again and again. They have a saying in Orlando - the first time you visit, you come for your kids, but when you come back, it is for yourself.
